Mela at JUW

 JINNAH UNIVERSITY for WOMEN
Fun & Family MELA
A Fun n Family Mela was organized at the Jinnah University for Women on the special occasion of Earth Day Saturday 26th Mar 2011.

 In the current climate of despair and terror in the hearts and minds of Karachi-ites this event provided not only the students but their families a chance to get their minds off the worries and toils of academic and socio-political life and let themselves loose to say a merry parting note to the short lived spring season.

 Completing the whole carnivalle' experience was the shopping spree, thanks to the variety of clothing and Cosmetic items available at the stands. Women giving in to the temptation carried on with there shopping spree and also tried and experienced first hand the quality of merchandise on display.

To satisfy the inner child in everyone there were a few wild rides which surprisingly were a huge success.

23 March Pakistan DAY

                                                 HISTORY

Pakistan had obtained its independence from the British law the 14th of August 1947. 23 March was originally supposed to commemorate the adoption of the first constitution of Pakistan and thus the declaration of Pakistan a republic. However, Field Marshal Ayub Khan abrogated the constitution and declared Marshall law. Khan's regime, in order to justify celebrating the national day, changed it to commemorate the 1940 landmark, during which All-India Muslim League passed the Lahore Resolution which later cemented the formation of a new nation in the sub-continent as Pakistan, even though it did not actually mention Pakistan at all. The Muslim League annual conference was held from 22–24 March 1940 and the Lahore Resolution was passed on 23 March.
                                   The Lahore Resolution , commonly known as the Pakistan Resolution (Qarardad-e-Pakistan), was a formal political statement adopted by the Muslim league, at the occasion of its three-day general session on 22–24 March 1940 that called for greater Muslim autonomy in British India. This has been largely interpreted as a demand for a separate Muslim state, Pakistan. The resolution was presented by A. K. Fazlul Huq.
Although the name "Pakistan" had been proposed by Choudhary Rahmat Ali in his Pakistan declaration in 1933, Muhammad Ali Jinnah and other leaders had kept firm their belief in Hindu-Muslim unity. However, the volatile political climate and religious hostilities gave the idea stronger backing.
                                 Islamic Republic of Pakistan is a country in South Asia. It has a 1,046-kilometre (650 mi) coastline along the Aerabian Sea and the Gulf of Oman in the south and is bordered by Afghanistan and Iran in the west, India in the east and China in the far northeast. Tajikistan also lies very close to Pakistan but is separated by the narrow Wakhan Corridor. Strategically it is located in a position between the important regions of South Asia, Central Asia and the Middle East. The region forming modern Pakistan was the site of several ancient cultures including the neolithic Mehrgarh and the bronze era Indus Valley Civilisation. Subsequently it was the recipient of Vedic, Persian, Indo-Greek, Islamic, Turco-Mongol, and Sikh cultures through several invasions and/or settlements. As a result the area has remained a part of numerous empires and dynasties including the Persian empires, Islamic caliphates and the Mauryan, Mongol, Mughal, Sikh and British Empires. Pakistan gained independence from the British Empire in 1947 after a struggle for independence, led by Mohammad Ali Jinnah, that sought independent states for the Muslim majority populations of the eastern and western regions of British India. With the adoption of its constitution in 1956, Pakistan became an Islamic republic. In 1971, an armed conflict in East Pakistan resulted in the creation of Bangladesh.
Pakistan is a federal parliamentary republic consisting of four provinces and four federal territories. With over 170 million people, it is the sixth most populous country in the world and has the second largest Muslim population after Indonesia. It is an ethnically and linguistically diverse country with a similar variation in its geography and wildlife. With a semi-industrialized economy, it is the 27th largest in the world in terms of purchasing power. Since gaining independence, Pakistan's history has been characterised by periods of military rule, political instability and conflicts with neighbouring India. The country faces challenging problems including poverty, illiteracy, corruption and terrorism.
Pakistan has the seventh largest standing armed force and is the only Muslim-majority nation to possess nuclear weapons. It is designated as a major non-NATO ally of the United States. It is a founding member of the Organization of the Islamic Conference and a member of the United Nations, Commonwealth of Nations,[ Next Eleven economies and the Developing Nations.

Another Word for Wilson is Laugh

Another Word for Wilson is Laugh

202/365 - Laugh

Laugh turns red in the face.
Laugh’s hair stands up.
Laugh has crazy eyes. One eye
Stands up and the other stands down.
The ears of Laugh cannot hear
Anything but what is funny.
Laugh’s teeth turn black
From a red face. His nose gets cold.
His nails turn redder than his face.
The body of Laugh gets fatter.

Mid Term Papers

Some thing about mid term papers
Mid terms are the papers that are conducted in the middle of the semister. They contain half of the course and it is of twenty marks that are included in final papers which is known as terminal papers.
 Mid term papers are very important. They help student keep track of their academic progress throughout the year and it also dilutes the pressure of the whole course being examined at a time.
       Discussion about teachers
Well  . . . . , This is my fifth semister in (JUW). This semister mid term papers started from 7th of March 2011 and continued till 14th of March, 2011. In this semister we suffered some problem and the main problem was that teachers were not decided because one of the lecturer resigned in the week of mid term so we didn’t have any syllabus or course outline for these subject but some how we still managed and took the exam  an hopefully we’ll be successful.

optimistic tree...

Optimistic Tree

happy go lucky :)

Start each day with happy attitudes.
Smile, laugh!
Fun and healthy thoughts aren't merely for children, you know -- or for the rich -- or the happy go lucky. You need fun and laughter almost as much as you need food!
Perhaps each day seems alike .. gray and grim. You are irritated by little things, you drag yourself to do one task to another. You aren't really sick but you're far from feeling well ..
It is not hard work that drains off your energy but emotional upheaval, those unguarded thoughts that robs you from happy attitude and pleasant, peaceful mind.
Keep your heart free from hate, your mind from worry. Live simply, expect little but give much. Fill your life with love. Scatter sunshine. Forget self and think of others.
Do as you would be done by.

alwayz b happy;-)

The little cares that fretted me,
I lost them yesterday
Among the fields above the sea,
Among the winds at play;
Among the lowing of the herds,
The rustling of the trees,
Among the singing of the birds,
The humming of the bees.
The foolish fears of what may happen,
I cast them all away
Among the clover-scented grass,
Among the new-mown hay;
Among the husking of the corn
Where drowsy poppies nod,
Where ill thoughts die and good are born
Out in the fields with God
.

why optimism is the best medicine ?

do u think dat can't is da worst word...?

Can't is the worst word that's written or spoken;
Doing more harm here than slander and lies;
On it is many a strong spirit broken,
And with it many a good purpose dies.
It springs from the lips of the thoughtless each
morning
And robs us of courage we need through the
day:
It rings in our ears like a timely-sent warning
And laughs when we falter and fall by the
way.
Can't is the father of feeble endeavor,
The parent of terror and half-hearted work;
It weakens the efforts of artisans clever,
And makes of the toiler an indolent shirk.
It poisons the soul of the man with a vision,
It stifles in infancy many a plan;
It greets honest toiling with open derision
And mocks at the hopes and the dreams of a
man.
Can't is a word none should speak without
blushing;
To utter it should be a symbol of shame;
Ambition and courage it daily is crushing;
It blights a man's purpose and shortens his
aim.
Despise it with all of your hatred of error;
Refuse it the lodgment it seeks in your brain;
Arm against it as a creature of terror,
And all that you dream of you some day shall
gain.
Can't is the word that is foe to ambition,
An enemy ambushed to shatter your will;
Its prey is forever the man with a mission
And bows but to courage and patience and
skill.
Hate it, with hatred that's deep and undying,
For once it is welcomed 'twill break any
man;
Whatever the goal you are seeking, keep trying
And answer this demon by saying: "I can."

wish da world vere beter...!!!

Do you wish the world were better?
Let me tell you what to do.
Set a watch upon your actions,
Keep them always straight and true.
Rid your mind of selfish motives,
Let your thoughts be clean and high.
You can make a little Eden
Of the sphere you occupy.
Do you wish the world were wiser?
Well, suppose you make a start,
By accumulating wisdom
In the scrapbook of your heart;
Do not waste one page on folly;
Live to learn, and learn to live.
If you want to give men knowledge
You must get it, ere you give.
Do you wish the world were happy?
Then remember day by day
Just to scatter seeds of kindness
As you pass along the way,
For the pleasures of the many
May be ofttimes traced to one.
As the hand that plants an acorn
Shelters armies from the sun

make a fresh begning...

How often we wish for another chance
to make a fresh beginning.
A chance to blot out our mistakes
And change failure into winning.
It does not take a new day
To make a brand new start,
It only takes a deep desire
To try with all our heart.
To live a little better
And to always be forgiving
And to add a little sunshine
To the world in which we're living.
So never give up in despair
And think that you are through,
For there's always a tomorrow
And the hope of starting new.
